Popular Yoruba Nollywood actress Aisha Lawal recently shared a harrowing experience following the massive explosion in Ibadan on Tuesday night, as confirmed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. The incident, which occurred at Dejo Oyeleye Street, Bodija, resulted in two fatalities, 77 injuries, and was attributed to illegal miners storing explosive devices in a residential building.

Governor Makinde highlighted the prompt response of the state government, deploying first responders and relevant agencies for immediate search and rescue operations. Aisha Lawal, expressing gratitude for her safety, recounted parking her car near the estate but relocating it just before the explosion. She mentioned the lingering impact on her ears and claimed to witness numerous casualties, questioning the alarming situation.

In her words “I even parked to buy suya opposite that Estate o! Now later moved my car from Sloggers Club to the Metro hotel on the same Osuntokun when it happened. Olohun anu oooooooo

“Too many dead bodies, ehhhhhh what exactly is going on ooo. Olohun sanu oooo.”

The explosion which happened in the evening on 16th January, 2024 claimed some lives, injury many and left the majority homeless.
